DigiMach strengthens the digital growth of manufacturing companies

DigiMach connects Limburg with a strong European network for digital machining. The project supports SMEs with concrete tools, expertise and cross-border collaboration so they can take their digital steps faster and with clear focus.

DigiMach: digital acceleration for the machining industry

DigiMach (Digital Machining) unites Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany in one ambitious cross-border initiative. The project focuses on the machining industry in the Meuse-Rhine Euregio and helps companies integrate digital technology smoothly into their production processes.

The goal is clear: to support you in your digital transformation with solutions tailored to your operational reality. In doing so, DigiMach strengthens your growth, efficiency and competitiveness.

“Driven by innovation, training and collaboration, DigiMach aims to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial SMEs by offering them concrete solutions for a successful digital transition,” says Ward Vanongeval of Sirris.

European support for digital innovation

DigiMach is funded by the Interreg Meuse-Rhine Euregio programme and has a budget of EUR 3.66 million, of which 50% is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Public and private partners actively support the project and strengthen the cross-border network that guides SMEs towards Industry 4.0.

“DigiMach addresses a strategic challenge: guiding companies towards Industry 4.0 by integrating artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and robotics,” emphasises Samuel Milton of Sirris.

Focused on concrete steps for your digital transformation

Digital transformation can seem large or abstract. DigiMach makes those steps simple and concrete. The project supports 150 SMEs through actions that help you move forward immediately:

  • Personalised digital maturity assessment
  • Multilingual digital collaboration platform
  • Development of prototypes and use cases
  • Twenty pilot projects in operational environments
  • Targeted training and hands-on workshops

These actions help you optimise processes, reduce costs and integrate new technologies more quickly, without major barriers.

Strong cross-border collaboration

DigiMach is coordinated by Sirris (Belgium) and builds on the expertise of leading partners:

  • Basse-Meuse Développement (Oupeye, BE)
  • CRM Group (Liège, BE)
  • Technifutur (Seraing, BE)
  • WFG Ostbelgien VoG (Eupen, BE)
  • Maastricht University (NL)
  • Hochschule Niederrhein (Krefeld, DE)
  • ITA Academy (Aachen, DE)

Together, they form a powerful ecosystem that supports companies on their digital path and makes knowledge available across the region.

Five core activities as foundation

1. Analysis of company needs
We map your digital maturity and operational challenges. This forms the basis for every next step.
2. Digital collaboration platform
The platform connects companies, experts and technology partners. You will find tools, information and collaboration possibilities in three languages.
3. Technological demonstrators
Prototypes and use cases show what you can already implement today. They offer inspiration and insight into feasibility within your own production environment.
4. Pilot projects in realistic contexts
Twenty companies test digital solutions under real conditions. The insights are shared across the entire region.
5. Knowledge transfer
Workshops, training sessions and reports ensure broad dissemination of results. Companies not involved in pilot projects also benefit.

All results are anchored in regional industrial strategies to ensure lasting impact after the project ends.

Limburg as a strong link in digital machining

According to Tom Jacobs of Sirris, DigiMach offers a unique opportunity to strengthen Limburg’s manufacturing expertise. The region plays a key role thanks to its strong industrial base and ambition to further digitalise. Cross-border collaboration creates solutions that generate greater value than one region alone could achieve.

DigiMach helps Limburg-based companies prepare for the future. You gain access to knowledge, technology and partners who support you at every stage of your digital journey.
