Frank Van den Broek
Project Manager Mechatronics
At Sirris, my service to Belgian technology companies is two-fold. First, as a member of the mechatronics team, I can help you to maximise the value of computer vision and machine learning for your products that contain embedded hardware. Second, I specialise in intellectual property. So, if you have questions about the patentability of your innovations or want to evaluate your freedom-to-operate, you may also reach out at any time.

After working as an engineer in production and factory automation, I joined Sirris in 2008. Since then, I have carried out over 100 patent searches for companies, acquiring a wealth of knowledge in and practical experience with searching and interpreting patents and their statutory aspects. I regularly follow training courses in the field of patents, such as the 'Patent Information Specialist Course' (WON) and 'Belgian Patent Law and Patent Practice' (ie-net). Since 2019, I also started working on AI-related topics, focusing on computer vision and machine learning in products with embedded devices.
- Master’s Degree, Industrial Engineer Electromechanics at KU Leuven (2000)
