International QRM Community Days: company visits in Belgium
Learn from two strong QRM transformations
The QRM Community brings together QRM practitioners from around the world who are active in a QRM transformation to exchange experiences, share best practices and gain inspiration from leading company transformations using QRM principles.
The QRM Community Days is a two-day event. We will start on Thursday, November 5 at 13:30, allowing participants sufficient time to travel to the venue. The programme includes an afternoon session on the first day, followed by a full morning and lunch on the second day. The meeting will conclude early in the afternoon, enabling everyone to travel home the same day.
For whom?
This event brings together international Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) practitioners who are actively working on a QRM transformation. The number of participants is limited to 20 to encourage exchange and interaction. This event is relevant for:
- production and operations managers who are applying or looking to implement QRM;
- professionals looking to shorten lead times and increase flexibility;
- QRM and POLCA practitioners who want to exchange experiences and best practices;
- business leaders, engineers and experts involved in technological innovation in industry;
- organisations operating in high-variety, low-volume or highly customised production environments.
Two company visits to Belgian manufacturers
This year, the International QRM Community will visit two Belgian manufacturers that have successfully transformed their operations through the application of QRM principles.
Provan is an award-winning metalworking company specialising in tube, profile and sheet metal processing, welding and assembly. Serving a high-variety, low-volume market, Provan has been applying QRM for many years to achieve exceptionally short lead times and high flexibility, making it one of Europe's best-known QRM success stories.
Gerken Belgium, part of the Wabtec Group, designs and manufactures high-performance carbon and graphite components for industrial and railway applications. The company recently introduced POLCA to improve the flow of customised products through its high-mix manufacturing environment, providing an excellent opportunity to see a recent POLCA implementation in practice.
The combination of presentations, production tours, experience sharing and an interactive workshop will help you compare different QRM approaches and translate them into practical next steps for your own organisation. At the same time, you can further expand your international QRM network during the community dinner and shared lunch.
