Demo showing the potential for a 'Cobotic production assistant' in agile production

Is a mobile cobot that you can use whenever and wherever you want something you could use in your company? Would you like to come and see such a concept in action? This event will give you plenty of opportunity to do so.

Within the Trinity project, Sirris is working together with the metal working company Malmar on the 'Reconfigurable Cobotic PRODuction Assistant' (RECOPRODAS). This 'cobotic production assistant' (CPA) allows the operator to independently decide where the cobot can be used most efficiently at that moment.

Automation for the job-shop environment

The Trinity project focuses on digital technologies and advanced robotics for agile production. For the demonstrator at Malmar, three processes were selected between which it should be possible to switch the CPA: operation of a folding bench, a projection welding machine and a tap arm.

Malmar's goal is to create a more human-centred work environment by providing operators with resources that can relieve them of tedious, repetitive tasks. This also gives them more 'ownership' over the work cell in which they work. However, it is not feasible to have a fixed cobot or robot with every machine given the job-shop environment, with its characteristic combination of high-mix-low-volume production orders and varied production processes.

You can find more information about Malmar’s activities and objectives in a previous blog article here.

The event, which takes place in the Sirris lab in Diepenbeek, will give you a first glimpse of the concepts, challenges and solutions and the related project results. You will also have the opportunity to ask our experts questions.

Important! The date of this event is still subject to the timely delivery of all essential components. If the date changes, the participants will be personally informed by e-mail.

The 'Reconfigurable Cobotic PRODuction Assistant: RECOPRODAS’ is one of the many demonstration projects made possible with the support of the Trinity initiative. The Trinity project focuses on digital technologies and advanced robotics for agile production in future European manufacturing ecosystems.
