Subsidies available for smart sensor projects in the food industry

Are you an SME and do you develop innovative solutions for the food industry? If that is the case, you may be eligible for financial support from the S3Food project for innovative projects in relation to smart sensor systems.

The S3Food project provides financial support for SMEs manufacturing innovations for the food industry in one of the following smart sensor system topics:

  • 'Sensors to monitor real-time critical control parameters': direct or indirect (soft-sensing) measurement of product parameters in order to better control the process.
  • 'Sensor integration and implementation': the integration of the above sensor systems in the physical production environment and with the existing production monitoring, ERP and quality systems.
  • 'Smart Data Management - from data to information to action': analysing the sensor data and transforming it into information, processing that information into knowledge, so that events can be anticipated and failure can be avoided.
  • 'Connectivity in food companies and in the food value chain': the secure exchange of the above information between different systems within a single site or across sites, in order to generate knowledge about the processes at a coordinating level.

Depending on the stage your research is at, financial support ranges from €15,000 to €60,000 per project. This support can be used for the company’s personnel costs, travel costs and subcontracting for external expertise, and for depreciation of equipment and consumables for larger projects.

Please note that applications must be submitted before 14 May 2020.
