A 'Patent' tool to support R&D in the fight against COVID-19

A new research tool to facilitate the identification and collection of information mentioned in patents and likely to prove useful to those developing new technologies to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

It is unquestionably a totally original approach, and one in keeping with the scale of the challenges involved in the fight against Covid-19: the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has just launched a new and free research tool in its worldwide patent database, Patentscope.

The 'Patentscope Covid-19 Index' will offer scientists, engineers, public healthcare decision makers and the general public easier access to technological data likely to help them improve the detection, prevention and treatment of diseases such as Covid-19.

This new tool provides dozens of search options specifically designed for specialists in information pertaining to patents in a whole range of pertinent technological fields.
