Save the date - Intellectual property, traceability and the counterfeiting of 3D printable objects

What are the issues and risks for creators, industrial designers and manufacturing companies in the context of the rise of additive manufacturing?

On 12 February 2015, Sirris and FPS Economy and its Directorate-General of Economic Regulation responsible for the Belgian Office for Intellectual Property (OPRI), along with a series of international partners, are organising an afternoon in Brussels on 3D printing and counterfeiting to deal with the issues and risks confronted by creators, industrial designers and manufacturing companies in the context of the rise of the technologies of 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

The purpose of the initiative is to highlight the direct interdependency of 3D printing with the legal standards (legislation, doctrines, jurisprudence, etc.) and the emerging technologies intended for the traceability of printable objects and their protection against counterfeiting.
