Innovation thanks to networking at MNE 2018

For the fourth time on February 7 and 8, MNE 2018 put the spotlight on mechatronics, engineering and plastic and metal processing at Kortrijk Xpo. Rather than just concentrating on technologies, the focus was also on networking and collaborating during the trade show, with numerous opportunities for making contact in the peripheral programme. Sirris was also present with a demonstration at the POM Smart Tech Box.

The networking formula was a success for both stand holders and visitors that resulted in the strengthening of existing contacts. In total the event had just under 3,000 visitors, mainly on the second day, which was thanks to the various peripheral events. These included, 'POM Disruptival – The Conference' and the Ideas Battle Arena, that also included Agoria Manufacturing 2020 Outlook among others.

Sirris was also present at MNE with a number of other partners on the POM West Flanders group stand, which is where we presented the Interreg Factory 4.0 project and handed out more information about our service related to the Efro project concerning mechatronics and engineering. We also organised a demonstration involving robotised screws that attracted a lot of the visitors who found it very interesting. On this part of the Sirris Smart Assembly Cell demonstrator, which is set up at our location in Kortrijk, communications between the various components created the greatest interest. The aim of the set-up is to assist the operator by allowing them to carry out rapid, controlled screw actions.
