Olivier Rigo

The draft ISO/ASTM CD 52935_ 'Additive manufacturing of metals - Qualification principles - Qualification of coordinators for metallic parts production' has changed from CD status ('Committee Draft' - the first draft of the standard development committee) to DIS ('Draft International Standard' - draft for enquiry, subject to public input).

The purpose of this draft standard is to specify the qualification requirements for the coordinators of industrial manufacturing sites responsible for the additive manufacturing of metallic parts.

It includes for example guides for the qualification of coordinators in general industrial applications.

The document covers subjects such as:

  • Tasks and responsibilities of the actors
  • The skill levels of AM coordinators
  • The qualification test certificates needed
