Workshop and matchmaking event brings construction and coatings industries together

Traditionally, coatings used in the construction industry are decorative or protective paints for walls and wood work. However, more and more coatings with other functionalities are being developed and used in buildings and applied on building materials. On 21 September, the cluster ‘Innovatieve Coatings’, which Sirris is a part of, organises a workshop and matchmaking event on this theme.

More and more coatings with new functionalities are being developed and used in buildings and applied on building materials: protective coatings for concrete, easy-to-clean coatings for tiles and windows, heat-reflective coatings for windows, UV protecting coatings for plastic construction materials, fire-resistant coatings, etc.

This event aims at bringing together companies from the building and the coating industries and is co-organised by WTCB-BBRI (Belgian Building Research Institute) and the Walloon Cluster ‘Eco construction’.

After the morning workshop, with a lecture on the needs of the building industry and two cases illustrating the use of coatings in the building industry, each participating company will have the opportunity to present itself, its offers and/or needs in a 2 minutes pitching session. In the afternoon, bilateral meetings between the companies will take place.

Interested in attending? You will find further information in our agenda.

The Cluster ‘Innovatieve Coatings’ is an initiative of Sirris, CoRI and Centexbel. It aims to increase competitiveness and to create economic added value by bringing players of the whole coating value chain (formulators, technology providers, coaters, end users, …) together across different coating sectors (metals, plastics, wood, textiles, …). More information on this cluster can be found at http://cluster-innovatieve-coatings.be/

This event is organised with the support of Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Vlaio).
