Sirris’ Precision Manufacturing Laboratory puts new technology in the spotlight

Thanks to precision production, manufacturing companies can make high quality products and strengthen their competitive position. Sirris has invested in a state-of-the-art infrastructure at Diepenbeek with all the latest technologies. The laboratory is opening its doors on 30 September to demonstrate to companies the opportunities that are available - this includes you too.

Precision production in the manufacturing sector

Innovative production properties and strict performance requirements are placing increasing demands on component accuracy. Because traditional oven-hardening takes up a lot of time and can create inaccuracies, advanced materials and precision production technologies are becoming more interesting. Moreover, companies have to make cost-effective innovations if they want to remain competitive.

Investing in infrastructure

Companies who have queries about precision production have come to the right address at Sirris. As a technology centre, it not only has the necessary know-how, but also a fully up-to-date infrastructure. Sirris has invested at Diepenbeek in a comprehensively climate-controlled precision production cell where the latest metalworking technologies can be applied.

Integrated laser hardening

Precision processing on 5-axis machinery offers a whole range of opportunities. In the laboratory Sirris also focuses on the cryogenic processing of advanced materials, as well as laser hardening (where components are hardened immediately after milling). This results in substantial reductions in the production cycle. This way the laboratory with its high-tech equipment can process relatively large components – up to 300 x 300 x 300 mm – rapidly and to an accuracy of one micron.
