Sirris keeps its finger on the pulse in the foundry sector

This spring Sirris Zwijnaarde's activities with the foundry sector and its customers will be gathering momentum. The new foundry furnaces have already been commissioned and passed the initial tests with flying colours. Just before the 'Casting tomorrow's products' event later on this month, the seventh edition of the 'European Cast Iron Meeting' scientific event will take place.

Following the installation of the two new induction furnaces in the workshop at Sirris Zwijnaarde, the initial preliminary and acceptance tests were carried out without any hiccups. The time required between delivery and installation was just three weeks. It proved to be an excellent example of well-lubricated collaboration among the various cluster partners

Would you like to see the ovens close at hand, or find out more about the services offered by Sirris?  Why not come along to the official inauguration event 'Casting provides the route to tomorrow’s products' on 30 March !

The European Cast Iron Meeting takes place on 26 and 27 March. Virtually all European researchers specialising in cast iron come together for this annual event. The first meeting took place in 2009 and Sirris has been involved in every one since then. This year Sirris is host and so the event is taking place at the Sirris premises in Zwijnaarde. Fifteen interesting lectures will be given on 26 March, and on 27 March, a visit has been planned to the Ferromatrix foundry. Around 30 European researchers have already registered for the event.
