Provan and Niko attending International QRM Conference in the US

The 14th edition of the QRM International Conference will take place from 22 to 25 June in the US city of Madison, Wisconsin. The many international speakers include two representatives of Belgian companies Niko and Provan, along with Sirris.

The quick response manufacturing (QRM) strategy has time and again proven its ability to help companies increase their competitivity by delivering high-quality products while at the same time reducing their lead times.

Over the last 20 years the Center for Quick Response Manufacturing at the University of Wisconsin - Madison has assisted more than 200 companies in implementing potent strategies for shortening lead times. Companies were thus able not only to achieve lead-time reductions of up to 90 per cent, but also attained cost reductions of up to 30 per cent, promptness in deliveries improved by up to 99 per cent, decreasing overheads by more than 20 per cent and raising productivity dramatically.

During the annual international conference, industrialists from various sectors from all over the world share their experiences with the application of QRM principles. These include Ben Proesmans, CEO at Provan, who together with Sirris provided the lecture 'So You Think You Need a Planner', and Goedele Heylen, Director of Operations and Bart Tielen, Department Head - Manual Assembly at Niko, who will be present at the lecture 'QRM at Niko: Back To Our Future'.
