Presentation of the plastics metallization feasibility study

There are many possibilities for decorating plastics and new ideas are coming thick and fast. On 18 November, Flanders' PlasticVision together with Sirris and the Kunststoff Institut Lüdenscheid are giving an afternoon workshop within the framework of the 'Metalliseren van kunststoffen' feasibility study that goes into the various aspects of decorating plastics.

The demand for decorated plastics has grown significantly over the last few years. Demand is coming from two directions, one being customers seeking individualized products and the other comes from suppliers wanting to distinguish themselves from their competitors. Apart from that, a lot of so-called decoration actually has a practical value. There are many possibilities for decorating plastics and new ideas are coming thick and fast. This is why the feasibility study was initiated and provides a broad view of the various technologies available for metallizing plastics.

Patrick Cosemans from the Sirris Smart Coating Application Lab will present the feasibility study during the afternoon workshop. Flanders’ PlasticVision, Sirris and the German Kunststoff Institut Lüdenscheid would also like to talk about the latest trends in decorating and share their experiences with companies.
