Drones and UAVs take over C-Mine

Would you like to see drones being deployed in the construction, transportation, logistics, security, farming, horticulture, etc., sectors? Curious to know about the latest legislation and innovations? Or would you rather see a drone demonstration from close at hand? The Drone Convention takes place on 21 April when for a short period, C-Mine in Genk will become the European centre for everything to do with drones and UAVs.

This year promises to be the year in which drones take their place in the global economy. The Drone Convention provides an excellent opportunity to view the latest developments and see what the future has in store. The programme includes a number of keynote speeches given by leading international speakers. The forenoon is rounded off with a number of prominent guests debating the future of UAVs and drones, which is introduced by Lieven Scheire. In the afternoon, various companies demonstrate the economic and commercial opportunities presented by the deployment of drones. They will give live drone presentations at the former coal mine. There will also be stands and you can also inspect the drones in the C-Mine buildings.

Towards the end of the afternoon the focus will be on potential drone applications for companies. Demonstrations will be given in familiar areas of application in various sectors including, security, construction, industry, transportation, government departments, as well as farming and horticulture. The Minister of Defence Steven Vandeput will make the closing keynote speech, followed by drinks and networking in the beautiful Barenzaal at C-Mine.
