CEDM celebrates 10 years of RoHS with two workshops

On 30 September, the Center for Electronics Design & Manufacturing (cEDM) will organise a first workshop about the impact and future of RoHS: '10 years of RoHS'.

Ten years ago, the EU directive 2002/95/EC RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment) came into effect. The goal of this directive is to reduce the use of six hazardous materials in the electronics industry.

The workshop, which will take place in Leuven, will give you the unique opportunity to hear firsthand the plans of the European legislation and the impact on your business. You will learn how the material suppliers (solder, glue, laminates) have coped with RoHS and what they have in stall for us in the next future.

This workshop is of interest to all involved in or responsible for the design, production, quality, test, supply and system integration of electronics in products for which reliability is an essential property.

During a second workshop (March 2017) the focus will lie on the impact that the RoHS directive has on the design of electronic products, on the electronic manufacturing processes and on the reliability and lifetime of the modules.

You can find further information on these workshops in our agenda.
